[Music + Lyric] Nak Jently - You Have Spoken

Nak Jently - You Have Spoken

Nak Jently releases You Have Spoken, a powerful worship song inspired by a personal encounter with God and a journey through delays, setbacks, and renewed faith.

The song was born from a season when Nak was crying out to God over failed dreams, unfulfilled visions, and the things he desired to accomplish for Him. Through Scripture, God reminded him that he did not need to worry about what he would do for God because God Himself was working on his behalf.

That encounter became the foundation for You Have Spoken.

However, bringing the song to life came with years of delays and setbacks. Nak eventually moved on to other projects and left the song behind.

Years later, after experiencing challenges with projects that had previously flourished, Nak felt God calling him back to a deeper place of worship. His journey led him to Pastor Nathaniel Bassey and the Hallelujah Challenge, where he began growing in his walk as a worshipper.

During the Hallelujah Challenge, Nak discovered producer Mr. Wols, reached out to him, and unexpectedly received an opportunity to collaborate. The project later expanded to include Matthew Harden and the Holy Cross Lutheran School choir, audio engineers Darren Usher and Wallace Smith, and film producer Torri Brown, who documented the journey.

Despite challenges working across Nigeria and the United States, Nak witnessed God's faithfulness throughout the process.

You Have Spoken is ultimately a song of gratitude and encouragement—reminding listeners of God's mercy and faithfulness while encouraging those who are still waiting for His promises to come to pass.

Nak Jently's prayer is that the song will help listeners remember what God has done and strengthen their faith as they continue to wait on what He has spoken.

Listen to “You Have Spoken” by Nak Jently and be encouraged by a testimony of faith, worship, and God's unwavering faithfulness.

YOU HAVE SPOKEN (Lyric) Nak Jently

AD LIB
Jesus You’re good
Yeah

VERSE 1
What more can I say?
You know what I'm really like on good and bad days
But according to Your will
Great things You have promised to fulfill

Only words of truth
Come from Your mouth
And You said
It pleases You to bless this house

CHORUS
You have spoken greater
And when You grant a blessing it's forever
You have spoken greater
And when You make a promise it's forever

VERSE 2
There is none like You
Your promises are forever true
You performed great miracles
And You drove out the obstacles

Only You can do
These great things I see
And You said
It pleases You to reveal them to me

CHORUS (2x)

VAMP (2x)
It’s forever
It's forever

BRIDGE (2x)
Forever Your mercy is greater
Your compassion is greater
Your forgiveness is greater
Forever (and ever and ever)

Forever Your mercy is greater
Your compassion is greater
Your forgiveness is greater
Forever

ABOUT NAK JENTLY JOURNEY

Like many, I started in a kids choir where I was taught to sing in church. Youth choir is where I learned the foundation of worship, so it was important to me to record with young voices. My hope is always to pour into young people the way I was poured into as a child.

When I went to college, I stopped singing for a long time because I was growing my movement skills in competitive dance. Eventually, competition became wearisome for me, and my love for singing brought me back to choir and praise team, where I could focus on an audience of one— Jesus.

Unfortunately, my focus wasn’t as devoted as I wanted it to be because my walk with the Lord was full of stumbling, failing, and falling. It wasn’t until I experienced a season of great losses that I saw the Lord “surround me with songs of deliverance” like David mentioned in psalm 32:7 when he was reflecting on God’s forgiveness. In that season, I saw God do what I call putting tunes to my tears. My weeping while worshipping before Jesus opened my spirit up to receiving the responses that he was giving me.

I began to grow in my desire to spend time in His presence. It was in that place of worship that I received His love letters, His corrections, and His instructions through melodies. Eventually, the melodies came often enough that I realized the Lord had given me a new gift of writing music, even though I didn’t play a traditional instrument. My voice became my trumpet and I learned to work with audio engineers to produce the music.
